Campus Outreach

D-Groups

“D” is for Discipleship. D-Groups are faith-sharing small groups, which provide support, accountability, and encouragement to university students in their walk with God. As such, they are SPO’s version of Jesus’ group of disciples. Although they are usually smaller than twelve, the principles are the same: to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, to become like him, and to build a community of disciples on mission.  D-groups sometimes elect to study a particular topic throughout the year, read a book together, or take on a Bible study.

Men’s Nights and Women’s Nights

Though men and women have much in common as followers of the Lord, we all know that good brotherhood and sisterhood are crucial to learning what it means to be a man or woman of God.  Saint Paul’s Outreach organizes different activities and events throughout the year to help men and women grow in their identity as sons and daughters of God.  These nights can be fun or serious and include everything from sports to spa nights.  Prayer and food are common components as well.

Prayer Meetings

Christ promised us that when two or more gather in His name, He is present. Each SPO chapter gathers regularly to pray and to enjoy fellowship as an opportunity to express our faith and to learn how to become Christ’s disciples.

Lord’s Day Celebrations

Not all days of the week are created equally… God has commanded us to honor the Lord’s Day. For this reason, Saint Paul’s Outreach hosts Lord’s Day Celebrations on Saturday evenings once a month. They are a great opportunity to set aside the concerns of the week and gather together for prayer, fellowship, and yes, celebration.

Retreats

SPO offers various retreats, the main one of which is called “Fan into Flame” (see 2 Timothy 1:6). At Fan into Flame, young men and women are invited to discover or more fully engage the life-changing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.

More

There are many more campus outreach activities and events that SPO organizes or co-sponsors, such as Eucharistic Adoration, One Gospels (large praise events), One Mondays (talks by guest speakers), sports, and, of course, parties!
