Missionary Roles

The Saint Paul’s Outreach Missionary Corps is comprised of three groups of people serving in different capacities:

Mission Leaders. Mission Leaders work full time for Saint Paul’s Outreach providing the main leadership in our programs and overseeing the different areas of our work. Their responsibilities include the planning and leading of events, programs and retreats, supervision of other missionaries, general administration, and other leadership duties. Mission Leader training and formation comes in the form of the School of the New Evangelization, Missionary Corps Training, weekly teachings and discussions, and the SPO Formation Program. Mission Leaders are men and women who are committed to a season of service and participation in the life and mission of Saint Paul’s Outreach.

Standing in the GAP. GAP Missionaries are full-time volunteers who assist in carrying out the mission of Saint Paul ‘s Outreach. These missionaries are the backbone of our organization, and their service includes planning and executing evangelistic programs and events, building relationships with students, and general administration. During their year of service the GAP Missionaries receive training and formation through the School of the New Evangelization, Missionary Corps Training, weekly teachings and discussions, and the SPO Formation Program. Through these programs they are formed in Christian Living, Catechesis, Scripture and Evangelization. GAP Missionaries also receive formation and life from participating in men’s or women’s household where they share in corporate prayer and meals, and committed relationships.

Student Missionaries. The Student Missionary program offers the opportunity for university students to work part-time for Saint Paul’s Outreach and actively serve on their college campuses while receiving formation, training, and support from the greater Missionary Corps. Through the skills and knowledge that they receive from the School of New Evangelization and Missionary Corps Training, these missionaries are equipped to bring the Gospel of Christ to their peers in a relational setting, while participating in the daily functions of college life such as attending classes, going to the cafeteria, or working out.
